PRECARE

Prior to treatment, avoid the following:

  • Spray tanning or tanning cream for a minimum of 2 weeks
  • Sunbathing and solariums 1 month before treatment
  • Waxing, plucking or bleaching 1 month before treatment
  • Skincare containing active ingredients, exfoliating creams, AHA’s, BHA’s & Retinoids
  • Photosensitive medications

Shave the treatment areas 24hrs prior to treatment

WHAT TO EXPECT

  • A mild sunburn-like sensation is anticipated. This usually calms within 2-12hours but may last up to 2 days. For immediate relief to cool and hydrate the skin, put the treated area under cool running water or applying a cold compress to reduce heat in the skin.
  • Appearance of ‘stubble’ may appear between 1-4 weeks post treatment. This is not hair regrowth but the treated hairs being purged from the follicle. Allow this hair to fall out on its own.

THINGS TO AVOID UNTIL REDNESS HAS RESOLVED

  • Shaving hairs in the treated area.
  • Exfoliating the treated area.
  • Hot, steamy, long showers.
  • Direct sun exposure for 7-10 days following the treatment.
  • Chlorine pools, saunas and jacuzzis.
  • Tight restrictive clothing on the treated area.
  • If you are planning a chemical peel, MRI, or other medical procedures inform them that you have had laser hair removal in the treated area.

POSTCARE

  • Apply SPF50 sunscreen daily to sun exposed areas that have been treated.
  • If you experience prolonged redness, swelling, infection or any other disturbance to the treated skin please contact us. In rare cases of infection we recommend seeing your GP.
  • Avoid plucking or waxing the treated area as this would stimulate hair growth.
